Mission Statements Suck....

A personal reflection by Aaron Stewart

Our mission is to ..............

Blah blah blah blah....

I decided to make this a personal entry or "blog" if you may?  I just can't stand reading them any longer so I'm standing up and fighting back the status quo.  I know that many may be turned off by my attempt to describe what we are and what we are about?  I know some though, may find this entertaining and and possibly the most honest and accurate discription of a business in the history of the world.  I digress.

As I started Driven Fitness from nothing, I had a desire to change what was passing for specialty fitness stores. To me specialty is exactly that. Special. Unique. One-of-a-kind?  So that's what I decided it should be.

This might not be for everyone, but for most, I think our sucess is proof in its own.

We don't wear uniforms or Khaki pants.  We don't have specials and limited time only deals.  What we do have is some of the coolest products in the country.  You also are dealing with a family business and people running the show directly.

Want a deal on something? We don't run to a "manager" and see what they say.  We tell you right to your face what the best price we can do, and can figure out delivery, setup, and removal of your old Bowflex all by ourselves!

When you come to Driven, expect to be greeted by the show rooms mascot,(my Boxer AJ) he is very gentle if a little anxious.

Also, try to have an open-mind to new things.  Many products we carry are new and never seen in other showrooms.  With a little chat, we can figure out what you want to get out of training. Rather then the usual eliptical/treadmill default purchase, maybe see what other things are up your alley?  Exampe.  Gentle man tells me he recently was divorced and wanted to get back in shape because his wife left him for a man at the gym.  He thought treadmill would burn some fat and show her whats what.  I suggested heavy bag and lots of punching and kicking.  Long story short. Man loses 78 LBS over 14 months and is practicing Muay Thai 3 times a week.  Who woulda thunk..Its what Drives you  (cheap plug...i know)

Who cares if the reason you finally lost weight was because you imagined punching an X in face a couple hundred times?  It s alot better of a story then the couple who bought their slick sexy carido machine on sale they saw in the news paper and never use it because they never walk, or used a treadmill in the past...WHY GET ONE NOW?

Begone elliptical

I always like to challenge peoples initial purchase or at least what they want this or that for?  And yes I don't like ellipticals....I find them extremely boring.  But hey if it works for you then who am I to judge?  All I know is this...

Pay $2500 for an "ok" eliptical and use it every-other day.  Buy the best rower for $1300,  call me in 5-6 years and we shall see what results you have acheived (my guess is the elliptical was sold or tossed 4 years deep).  What is still being used.  What has costed time and money to repair, and which hasnt.  And finally which is actually a "crosstrainer"!!!!  ps...its a rower.

Anyways,  as I am tired of Mission Statements (that Im sure when you cut and past into Google they show up on a template page).  So am I tired of typing and pretending I am interesting and haveth good grammers.

I also want to give a shout out to the little guys.  All the people starting fresh ideas in the fitness world!!!  good job.

I love supporting anyone starting something new and exciting cause I get bored easily.

Ill do my best to hook up the best deals to all you out there including the MMA world, fighters and Clubs.  I know your all broke yes I get it.

Thanks for listening
